2013 finale

Grouper fishing continued to take up the spotlight in December. It looks like the recent closures are really helping out the fishery because this year yielded more big gag grouper than ever! The fight from these gags in shallow water is hard to beat, pure tug-o-war!

Along with the awesome gag grouper catches, we've made runs out the the outside reef to fish the mackerel run that happens in the winter time.  These fish are so much fun when they're in big numbers because their predatory instincts really kick in!  It's not uncommon to have 50+ fish days, and watching these macks sky-rocketing 20 ft in the air through ballyhoo schools is a sight to see! If you like blistering runs and screaming drags, this is it!!!
